Canon Rebel - Wide Angle Lens
There is an interesting feature when using a canon wide angle lens and that is the perspective stretching capability. This simply put means that when looking through a wide angle lens, it may seem that the distance between the objects is more than it really is.
So, if you are taking photos of such things as railroad tracks, a jetty, a fence line... things that may stretch into the distance, a wide angle lens may give you the feel that you can actually walk along the railroad track giving strong lines to the picture.
There is nothing better than getting your camera and taking different photos using your new lens and experimenting to see what sort of pictures you have taken.
